Cull the Heard is a Dallas–Fort Worth metal band delivering heavy riffs, powerful vocals, aggressive rhythms, and an unmistakable live presence.

Built in the Texas metal scene, the band combines crushing instrumentation with dynamic songwriting and memorable vocal performances. Their music deals with struggle, determination, ambition, loss, resilience, and the refusal to stay down.

With years of live experience and performances on Texas stages including The Bomb Factory, Trees, and The Rail Club, Cull the Heard has shared the stage with established touring acts while building its own identity within the Texas metal community.

Live Review Highlights

"Take Me" kicked off their 28-minute set, with vocalist Davon Says singing the first few lines in acappella. "You can't take my life from me. I'm too strong for it, you see?..." He demonstrated he had quite the voice, with his pitch being perfect as he hit each note.

The metal part of their music soon began with fast paced guitar notes from Eric Dando and deafening beats from Jim Stephenson. The anger evoked fit with what the song was about, and it only helped that they already had the reviewer fully captivated with their energetic performance.

On "Pieces": "...Putting the pieces of your life back together. 'Cause no one else is going to do it for you..."
